Posting of commercial content on the Melbourne Freedivers Facebook page is allowed, following it adhears to the below guidelines. These guidelines apply to all financial and non-financial members of Melbourne Freedivers Club (MFC), and have been written in the best interest of the groups members to facilitate a enjoyable and interactive social media experience.
‘Commercial content’ is defined as any content promoting a private business (outside of MFC organised activities) directly relating to the activity of Freediving, and more specifically Freediving in Melbourne.
Examples include, Boat charters, Equipment Sales, Tour Guides, Courses, Coaching, etc.
Commercial content not relating to Freediving (ie, Shoes, sunglasses etc) will not be tolerated.
The person posting the commercial content will be known throughout the guidelines as the ‘promoter’.
a) Promoters that have not advertised commercial content before, MUST contact MFC to be approved, and to discuss current acceptable frequency of posts.
c) Private messaging to group members promoting commercial content will not be tolerated. If MFC becomes aware of this, the promoter will receive ONE written warning, followed by being banned from the group on the next occasion.
d) Group members frequently inadvertently promoting private-businesses commercial activity, will be contacted by admin followed by the post being removed at MFC’s discretion.
ie: Rebecca Citizen: Hey guys, does anyone want to come on a Dolphin Tour this week with Free Willy Tours!? There is 3 spots left!
e) A promoter talking-down another promoters commercial-content or business will not be tolerated, (this may be in the form of a comment, post, or other) the promoter will receive ONE written warning, followed by being banned from the group on the next occasion.
f) Trolling, spamming, inappropriately bumping posts with useless comments, will not be tolerated, the promoter will receive ONE written warning, followed by being banned from the group on the next occasion.
– If a promoter is banned from the group, the said promoter will not be able to re-apply to join the group for 1 year.
MFC ultimately reserves the right to remove posts without warning that do not adhere to these guidelines, or that it finds inappropriate in general.
Additionally MFC reserves the right to modify these guidelines at any time without warning, in which case, existing posts will remain, however new posts will fall under the updated guidelines.
